How do “share renting” rooms
work in London?
You just rent a single or double room within an apartment; kitchen, living room,
bathroom/bathrooms are to be shared. You share the refrigerator, agree upon the
cleaning times etc. Usually expenses are included in the rent and every
apartment is furnished with everything needed to live (furniture, appliances,
tableware, blankets, etc.).
The rent is paid weekly. Everyone has the house keys and schedules are open.
Honestly, you won’t stay at home much, so it is well worth finding the right
place. Ask about costs that are included or not in the room’s price, the payment
rules and security deposit reimbursement (it is always required) and on the
distance of the dwelling unit to the subway (“tube”) or bus station and to the
main services (pubs, shops, etc.).
